Welcome to Frenchtown Evangelistic Assembly worship service. May you be blessed as you worship today.

Two Christian pro-life teenagers have recently won a settlement against their school district. The teenagers were harassed by their gay Pennsylvania public school vice principal, Zach Ruff, when they were protesting abortion outside their school on a public sidewalk. Ruff confronted the teens angrily and tried to shield the other students from seeing the protest as they were leaving school on April 21. Conner and Lauren Hanes who are brothers said they were trying to expose the negative impact of abortion which has claimed the lives of 60 million unborn babies since the procedure became legal in 1973.

According to the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Downingtown Area School District came to a settlement and has agreed to clarify its policies to assure that the public sidewalks surrounding the district’s schools are open to those wanting to use their First Amendment rights to publicly demonstrate, even if what they are demonstrating is at odds with school officials’ political views.

In a video posted to YouTube, the siblings told the administrator they are simply trying to expose “the holocaust that’s happening in America.” Ruff responded by stating that there is “no Halocaust happening in America.” Conner Haines then told Ruff that “these [unborn children] are the people that are being murdered,” adding, “these are image bearers of God.” Ruff replied, “They are not children they are cells.”

Despite the trend of young people to gravitate toward the worldly beliefs and ideologies, it is heart-warming to note that there are still many teenagers who are embracing the knowledge of the true God and are willing to take their stand for Him publicly. God told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations” (Jer. 1:5). God bless the two young men and may they have an ever growing influence on other young people for God.

Received–Not Earned

What if prospective parents approached an adoption agency with these questions?

We just have a question or two before we come in and sign the adoption papers. Will he be a good child? Healthy always? Oh, and can he fix his own meals? Do his own laundry?
Can you imagine prospective parents saying that? No adoption agency would put up with it. They’d respond with Wait a minute. You don’t understand. You don’t adopt this child because of what he has; you adopt him because of what he needs. He needs a home.

The same is true with God. John 3:17 says,
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

He doesn’t adopt us because of what we have. He doesn’t give us His name because of our intelligence, or our wallet or good attitude. Adoption is something we receive —not something we earn!
